No more lotus festival, dead ducks and carp, maria the goose, paddle boats, the statue of "Nuestra Reina de Los Angeles" (Queen of the Angeles),
known to most as "Lady of the Lake, and bad murky, gunky, stinky water. The 14 acre, 150 year old lake is about to get a whole new makeover
at the cost of 64 million buck-a-roos! The renovation SHOULD be done in 2014. I can't say I'm holding my breath looking forward to the new
landscape because with that comes rent prices skyrocketing, people being forced to move out of their homes because they can't afford to live there anymore,
gentrification and many homes being destroyed for the sake of greedy landowners. Condos are already being built across from the lake and I'm certain
parking meters will surround the park with restrictions no doubt.
